Ebook Campus Crisis Management Plan
A crisis is an event or situation that could affect or has affected the business continuity of the University or the reputation of the University.
Purdue University Calumet has an aggressive program to prepare this campus for emergencies. One of the key components is a crisis management plan that emphasizes the importance of keeping our campus safe though communication, awareness and preparedness. It is important for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to know how they can help themselves and others during an emergency.
The Purdue University Calumet Campus Crisis Management Plan (CCMP) has been designed and developed for university administrators as a framework to be used to assess incidents that may affect the campus. The potential human and mission impacts will be considered in determining the appropriate courses of action.
The plan is not intended to provide guidance for every type of incident that may affect campus operations. The input for planning and revision is the result of continual risk assessment and impact analysis.
Critiques of actual and simulated [under exercise conditions] incidents that have been assessed as an Emergency [Level Two] or a Crisis [Level Three] (see Incident Management System) will be used as the primary input into plan revisions.
